Job Title: Fire Protection Designer
Location: Remote (Colorado preferred)

Position Summary:
We're looking for a seasoned Fire Protection Designer to join our growing team. If you bring at least 10 years of experience in the MEP industry and have a passion for precision, code compliance, and smart system design, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. You'll collaborate with a dedicated group of fire protection professionals, focusing on design excellence across a variety of MEP projects.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and layout fire protection systems including wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
  • Develop fire alarm system designs, including device layout, circuiting, and voltage drop calculations.
  • Provide expert code consulting, applying NFPA, IBC, IFC, and local codes to ensure full compliance.
  • Create detailed design drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other industry-standard software.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations and system performance analysis.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate fire protection and alarm systems into building designs.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and specifications.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to verify installation and compliance.
  • Mentor junior designers and contribute technical leadership to the team.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and code updates.

What You Bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in fire protection and fire alarm system design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and fire protection design software.
  • Deep knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, including NFPA 13, 72, 101, and 20.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • EIT or PE license is a plus.
