Position Summary:

Our client is seeking an experienced Fleet Director to oversee fleet operations across the business. This role will be responsible for ensuring equipment and vehicles are well maintained, compliant, and available to support field teams. It is a key leadership position that works closely with operations and finance to keep projects running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage day to day fleet operations, including equipment planning and allocation across active projects
Oversee the full lifecycle of fleet assets, including purchasing, replacement planning, and disposal
Implement and track preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime
Coordinate repairs and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers
Monitor fleet performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce cost
Manage fleet related budgets and track key cost drivers such as fuel, maintenance, and utilization
Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, inspections, and regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate records for equipment, licensing, and servicing
Utilize fleet systems and data to support decision making and operational improvements
Lead and develop internal fleet personnel, including mechanics and yard staff
Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure equipment is available and aligned with jobsite needs

Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in fleet or equipment management within construction or a related industry
Previous experience leading teams and managing day to day operations
Strong knowledge of heavy equipment, maintenance practices, and utilization planning
Experience managing budgets and tracking operational performance
Familiarity with fleet management systems and related technology
Understanding of regulatory and safety standards relevant to fleet operations
Strong communication and organizational skills
Comfort working across both office and field environments
