Mechanical Construction Foreman

A well-established mechanical contractor specializing in new construction, service, and retrofit projects across commercial, healthcare, mission-critical, and institutional facilities is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Foreman to lead field operations on active job sites. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in delivering quality installations on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day field activities for HVAC, piping, and mechanical installation crews, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to spec.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and submittals to plan sequencing, manpower, and material needs on-site.
  • Manage crew productivity, scheduling, and daily manpower allocation to keep the project on track and within budget.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between field crews, Project Managers, and other trades to resolve conflicts and maintain project momentum.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce OSHA compliance and company safety standards across the jobsite.
  • Track and report progress, labor hours, material usage, and any field changes or delays to project leadership.
  • Train, mentor, and support the development of journeymen and apprentices within the crew.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, tool/equipment needs, and quality control inspections throughout each phase of construction.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical construction, with prior experience in a Foreman or Lead role.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial HVAC, piping, and/or plumbing systems installation.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience supervising crews of varying size.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced field environment.
  • Experience on commercial, healthcare, or mission-critical/data center projects is a plus.
