Geologist Team Lead - Jacksonville, FL

Overview
Seeking an experienced Geologist Team Lead to oversee environmental field operations, site investigations, and regulatory compliance activities. This role involves leading technical teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and contributing to environmental assessment and remediation projects across Florida and the Southeast region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and lead field operations and O&M activities.
  • Conduct site investigations including drilling, monitoring well installations, downhole geophysics, and sampling (soil, groundwater, indoor air, soil gas, sediment, surface water, stormwater, drinking water, building materials, and biota) in accordance with FDEP and EPA SOPs.
  • Support CERCLA, RCRA, and petroleum-related projects at various stages.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, cost estimates, work plans, and technical reports.
  • Interface with clients, regulators, and subcontractors onsite.
  • Develop technical recommendations for site assessment and remediation.
  • Maintain working knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Geology, Hydrogeology, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or a related environmental science.
  • At least 5 years of environmental experience, including contractor oversight, sampling, drilling, and field project execution.
  • Professional registration or certification (e.g., GIT, EIT) preferred; ability to obtain PE or PG license is a plus.
  • Experience in geotechnical or geophysics work is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification and up-to-date 8-hour refresher.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to obtain background clearance.
  • Willingness to travel regionally up to 35%, including overnight and weekend trips.
