Position Summary
The Geotechnical Branch Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Nashville branch's operations, managing a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring the successful delivery of geotechnical engineering services. This role combines technical leadership with business development and operational management, offering a unique opportunity to shape the firm's regional impact while benefiting from national support and resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Nashville branch's geotechnical engineering operations, including project execution, staffing, and quality control.
- Supervise and mentor a team of engineers, geologists, field technicians, and administrative staff.
- Oversee geotechnical investigations, laboratory testing, analysis, and design for infrastructure, transportation, energy, and commercial development projects.
- Ensure compliance with corporate standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships and represent the firm in regional industry associations and events.
- Drive business development efforts, including proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with regional and national leadership to align branch goals with company-wide objectives.
- Monitor branch financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee.
- Minimum 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
- Strong technical background in soil mechanics, foundation design, slope stability, and geotechnical software (e.g., gINT, LPILE, SLOPE/W, PLAXIS).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
- Familiarity with the Nashville market and regional geotechnical conditions is highly desirable.
