About the Opportunity

A nationally recognized ground improvement contractor is seeking a Geotechnical Ground Improvement Engineer with strong design experience to support complex ground improvement, foundation, and soil stabilization projects across multiple sectors. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of geotechnical design, field implementation, and innovative specialty construction techniques.

The company is a leader in design-build ground improvement solutions, delivering technically challenging projects across transportation, industrial, commercial, and energy markets. The selected candidate will join a collaborative, high-performing technical team that values creativity, innovation, and engineering excellence.

Position Overview

The Ground Improvement Engineer will play a critical role in the analysis, design, and execution of ground improvement systems, working closely with construction teams, project managers, and clients. This role requires a strong foundation in geotechnical engineering principles, analytical modeling, and design methodologies, along with the ability to adapt engineering concepts to real-world implementation.

This is a dynamic position with exposure to a wide variety of soil conditions, project types, and advanced ground improvement techniques.

Key Responsibilities

The Ground Improvement Engineer will:

  • Perform geotechnical analyses and design for ground improvement systems, including but not limited to stone columns, rigid inclusions, vibro techniques, deep soil mixing, and surcharge applications.
  • Support design-build project delivery with engineering calculations, subsurface evaluations, and design recommendations.
  • Collaborate with field crews and construction personnel to translate design concepts into safe, efficient implementation plans.
  • Review geotechnical reports, lab results, CPT data, and subsurface investigations to develop technically sound solutions.
  • Prepare engineering reports, design packages, and stamped calculations where required.
  • Provide technical support during bidding, project development, and construction.
  • Interface with clients, owners, and engineering partners to communicate design rationale, construction methodologies, and performance expectations.
  • Participate in quality assurance, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.
