Our client is approaching an incredible growth phase, specializing in FDOT projects, state and municipal clients, and major Everglades initiatives. With significant expansion on the horizon, they're seeking a Lab Manager who can maintain operational excellence while scaling lab capabilities to meet growing demand.
What You'll Do
- Oversee lab safety, efficiency, and compliance.
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to the highest standards.
- Ensure FDOT qualifications and audits are consistently met.
- Manage documentation and accreditation processes.
- Deliver accurate, timely, and clear test results.
- Lead and mentor the lab team, fostering a collaborative culture.
- Perform and supervise materials testing (soils, masonry, concrete, asphalt).
- Align operations with Quality Management Programs and AASHTO/ASTM standards.
- Support geotechnical and construction testing needs.
- Assist with Radiation Safety Officer duties.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years in a construction or geotechnical lab environment, ideally with FDOT experience.
- Familiarity with FDOT MAC System is a plus.
- Strong hands-on testing experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- ACI and CTQP certifications (or willingness to obtain).
