Geotechnical Project Manager
Position Overview
A well‑established engineering firm based in Dallas, Texas, is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Project Manager to support its growing portfolio of work across the North Texas region. The firm is recognized for its technical excellence, practical engineering approach, and strong client relationships.
The selected candidate will demonstrate a blend of technical proficiency, project management experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and industry partners.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Manages geotechnical engineering projects from proposal through completion, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
- Oversees field investigations, laboratory testing programs, and site reconnaissance activities.
- Ensures all project deliverables meet established internal standards and client expectations.
Technical Execution
- Performs and supervises geotechnical analyses for foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, settlement, soil improvement, and pavement design.
- Prepares and reviews geotechnical engineering reports, recommendations, and other technical documentation.
- Applies knowledge of North Texas soil conditions to develop practical, constructible, and cost‑effective engineering solutions.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Serves as a primary point of contact for clients, providing timely updates, technical guidance, and professional communication.
- Participates in project meetings and collaborates with civil, structural, and architectural design teams.
- Supports business development efforts through professional engagement and relationship building.
Team Development
- Mentors junior engineers and technicians, providing technical oversight and coaching to support their professional development.
- Contributes to the refinement and improvement of internal processes, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas, or the ability to obtain licensure within 6-12 months.
- 5-12+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, preferably within the Texas market.
- Proven experience managing projects, coordinating field programs, and producing high‑quality geotechnical reports.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast‑paced environment.
