A progressive, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Civil / Land Development Group Manager to lead and expand its presence in North Carolina. This is an opportunity to step beyond project delivery and take ownership of a growing business unit, with genuine influence over its direction and success.


The Opportunity

This role combines technical leadership, team development, and business growth. You will lead a talented group of engineers while playing a central role in winning work, strengthening client relationships, and expanding regional capabilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a high-performing Civil/Land Development team
  • Oversee the delivery of complex site development projects from concept through to construction
  • Drive business development, including client engagement, networking, and proposal leadership
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with public and private sector clients
  • Mentor and develop engineers at all levels
  • Ensure high standards in design delivery, including grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout
  • Contribute to regional strategy and identify opportunities for expansion

Project Portfolio

You will be involved in a varied and impactful mix of work, including:

  • Commercial and mixed-use developments
  • Healthcare and education facilities
  • Municipal infrastructure and community projects
  • Transportation and DOT-related schemes

About You

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Strong experience in civil site and land development
  • Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management
  • Proven leadership capability, with experience managing and developing teams
  • Commercially aware, with a proactive approach to growing a business
