About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading investment platform focused on energy transition, infrastructure, and renewable energy investments across Japan and broader Asia. As part of continued growth, they are seeking an experienced investment professional to lead the management, optimisation, and growth of a renewable energy investment portfolio.
This is a highly visible position offering responsibility across portfolio management, investment performance, asset value enhancement, and future transaction execution. The role sits at the intersection of investment management, strategic decision-making, and energy transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the management and optimisation of a diversified renewable energy portfolio across solar, wind, energy storage, and other energy transition assets.
- Develop portfolio strategies to maximise asset performance and long-term value creation.
- Monitor financial and operational performance of existing investments.
- Work closely with developers, operators, lenders, consultants, and external stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for acquisitions, divestments, refinancing, and portfolio expansion.
- Conduct investment analysis, valuation, financial modelling, and scenario planning.
- Present recommendations and portfolio updates to senior leadership and investment committees.
- Support due diligence and execution of new renewable energy investment opportunities.
- Monitor market, regulatory, and commercial developments within Japan's renewable energy sector.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience within renewable energy investments, infrastructure investments, project finance, asset management, private equity, infrastructure funds, utilities, or investment banking.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy project economics and investment evaluation.
- Experience managing energy, infrastructure, or real asset portfolios.
- Advanced financial modelling and valuation capabilities.
- Ability to engage with executive stakeholders and drive strategic decision-making.
- Native or business-level Japanese language capability is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
