A well-established heavy civil general contractor is looking to bring on an experienced Estimator to support a growing pipeline of infrastructure projects in the Bellevue, WA area.
This opportunity offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of work including grading, utilities, site development, and transportation projects, with a company known for its strong backlog, collaborative culture, and long-term career growth.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for heavy civil projects including earthwork, utilities, concrete, and site development
- Review plans, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate scopes of work and pricing
- Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers
- Analyze project risks, constructability, and value engineering opportunities
- Develop and maintain budgets covering labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor costs
- Coordinate with project management and field teams throughout the bid process
- Assist with bid strategy, proposal development, and post-bid analysis
Experience Needed
- 3+ years of estimating experience within heavy civil construction
- Experience estimating projects involving earthwork, utilities, roadwork, or site development
- Exposure to public and/or private sector bids (DOT, municipal, sitework, etc.)
- Proven ability to manage multiple bids with tight deadlines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong understanding of construction means & methods, cost structures, and estimating techniques
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Experience with estimating software (HCSS, Bid2Win, Bluebeam, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
