A leading General Contractor with a strong presence across the Carolinas, specializing in heavy civil infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and complex transportation systems. With a growing backlog in the Raleigh market, the contractor is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager to lead key bridge and structural projects.

Position Overview
The Heavy Civil Project Manager will oversee all aspects of project execution from preconstruction through closeout. This role requires a strong background in bridge construction and heavy civil environments. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented leader who excels in budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and client communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage heavy civil projects with a primary focus on bridge construction, structural concrete, roadway improvements, and associated civil scopes.
  • Lead project planning activities including schedules, budgets, work plans, procurement, and risk management.
  • Coordinate and supervise field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure work is executed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, DOT representatives, engineers, and local stakeholders.
  • Oversee quality control, safety compliance, progress reporting, and project documentation.
  • Identify and resolve issues proactively to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing heavy civil construction projects, specifically bridge or structural projects.
  • Previous experience working with state DOTs (NCDOT preferred) or major infrastructure contractors.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction methods, contract administration, and project controls.
  • Proficiency with scheduling and project management software.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
