Salary: $95,000 - $135,000 (DOE)
A reputable Heavy Civil General Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its growing team in Casper, Wyoming. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional looking to lead impactful infrastructure projects throughout the region, including highways, earthwork, utilities, site development, bridges, and other civil construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project execution, client management, budgeting, scheduling, and leading project teams from preconstruction through closeout.
Responsibilities
- Manage heavy civil construction projects from award through completion
- Oversee project budgets, forecasting, cost controls, and profitability
- Develop and maintain project schedules and ensure milestone completion
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and project stakeholders
- Review contracts, change orders, submittals, RFIs, and procurement activities
- Lead meetings with owners, engineers, inspectors, and project teams
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
- Work closely with Superintendents to manage field operations and production goals
- Identify project risks and develop proactive solutions
- Mentor Project Engineers and other junior team members
Experience Needed
- 5+ years of Project Management experience in heavy civil construction
- Experience managing projects valued from $1M-$50M+
- Strong background in earthwork, grading, utilities, roadways, highways, bridges, or site development
- Experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated success managing project financials and contract administration
- Experience working directly with DOT, municipal, federal, or private owners
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operations, production rates, and construction means and methods
- Strong understanding of safety and quality control procedures
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
- Equivalent industry experience will also be considered
- Strong understanding of project scheduling software and construction management systems
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities
- Valid driver's license with ability to travel to project sites as required
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
