Location: Portland, OR
Compensation: $120,000 - $180,000 Base Salary + Bonus + Benefits

Lead Critical Infrastructure Projects Across the Pacific Northwest

A reputable heavy civil general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Portland, Oregon team. This individual will be responsible for managing the successful execution of complex infrastructure projects from preconstruction through closeout.

Projects may include highways, roadways, bridges, underground utilities, excavation, grading, site development, and water/wastewater infrastructure projects throughout Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.

Responsibilities

  • Manage heavy civil construction projects from award through completion
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and forecasts
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, vendor relationships, and material purchases
  • Track project costs and profitability while identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Lead project meetings with owners, engineers, inspectors, and internal teams
  • Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and contract administration
  • Coordinate closely with field leadership to ensure successful project execution
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and challenges
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Mentor Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers

Experience Needed

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience within heavy civil construction
  • Experience managing roadway, highway, bridge, utility, water, wastewater, excavation, grading, or site development projects
  • Proven track record managing project budgets and schedules
  • Experience with public works and infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of contract administration and change management
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and design teams
  • Background working with DOT, municipal, county, state, or federal projects preferred
  • Experience successfully delivering projects ranging from several million to $50M+ preferred

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
  • Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, HCSS, HeavyJob, Viewpoint, or similar construction software preferred
  • Strong understanding of plans, specifications, and construction contracts
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Valid driver's license
