A well-established general contractor in the Vancouver, WA area is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to lead field operations on complex infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven professional who excels in managing crews, coordinating subcontractors, and delivering high-quality civil construction work on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily field operations on heavy civil construction projects
- Coordinate subcontractors, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient workflow
- Interpret and implement project plans, specifications, and schedules
- Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and project documentation
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and inspectors to resolve field issues
- Conduct regular site meetings and communicate project progress to stakeholders
Experience Required:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 3 years in a superintendent role
- Proven experience managing DOT, municipal, or large-scale infrastructure projects
- Strong background in earthwork, underground utilities, concrete structures, and paving
- Familiarity with construction scheduling tools such as Primavera or MS Project
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred
- OSHA 30 certification
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software
