About the Role

We are looking for a senior hydrology and hydraulics professional to help lead and grow our water resources capabilities in Texas. This position can be based in San Antonio, Austin, or the Dallas/Fort Worth area and will serve as a technical and strategic resource for both clients and internal teams.

In this role, you'll take ownership of complex drainage and flood-related projects, guide engineering teams, and contribute to expanding client relationships. You'll be trusted to deliver technically sound solutions while keeping projects practical, compliant, and cost-conscious.

What You'll Do

  • Act as the primary technical lead for hydrology and hydraulics design efforts.

  • Oversee project execution, schedules, and staff assignments across multiple active projects.

  • Develop drainage, floodplain, and stormwater solutions for a wide range of land development projects.

  • Perform modeling and analysis using tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, XPStorm, and comparable platforms.

  • Prepare floodplain documentation and manage CLOMR and LOMR submittals with FEMA and local jurisdictions.

  • Design stormwater management systems and plans for sites with challenging drainage conditions.

  • Apply knowledge of BMPs, MS4 requirements, stream and channel improvements, and low-impact development strategies.

  • Coordinate with surveyors, permitting agencies, and construction teams to ensure designs are buildable and approved.

  • Maintain regular communication with clients and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Review project finances, including invoices, budgets, and cash flow.

  • Support proposal efforts, marketing activities, and long-term client development.

What We're Looking For

  • A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or comparable hands-on experience in land development.

  • Strong working knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, with required experience in HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS.

  • Experience with XPStorm is a plus.

  • Exposure to TxDOT projects or standards is beneficial.

  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.

  • Texas Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification preferred.

  • Ability to manage teams, prioritize workloads, and deliver consistent results.

  • Valid Texas driver's license if travel is required.

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills in English.
