Highway Department Lead
Our client is seeking a Highway Department Lead to join their growing transportation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transportation professional looking to take on greater project leadership responsibilities and play a key role in expanding a highway and roadway practice throughout the NY/NJ market.
Location: New Jersey or New York
Schedule: Hybrid (2-3 days in office)
Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver highway, roadway, and transportation engineering projects from planning through final design and construction support
- Serve as a technical lead on transportation projects and provide guidance to project teams
- Coordinate project schedules, budgets, staffing, and client communication
- Mentor junior engineers and support team development
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with public-sector clients and agency partners
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic growth initiatives within the transportation practice
- Support business development efforts, proposal preparation, and project pursuits
- Help expand the firm's presence in the New Jersey and New York transportation market
Qualifications:
- Experience managing projects and client relationships
- Strong knowledge of transportation design and delivery
- Experience working on projects for NY or NJ transportation agencies
- Team leadership or staff management experience
- PE license preferred
