Senior Project Highway Engineer

A respected engineering firm is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Ground Transportation Division. This is a great opportunity to work alongside a large team of transportation design professionals dedicated to roadway, traffic, drainage, and safety design for state agencies and municipalities. Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in a multi-discipline team solving complex technical challenges
  • Deliver assignments accurately and on time with limited supervision
  • Support project budgeting, scheduling, and scope development
  • Understand client organizations and expectations
  • Share best practices to improve team performance and efficiency
  • Develop person-hour estimates and budgets with senior guidance
  • Lead small teams on moderately complex projects
  • Assist in proposal development and presentation
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers and peers
  • Conduct site visits and lead client/contractor meetings
  • Prepare technical writing and presentations for deliverables and public forums

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required; Master's (MSCE) preferred
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • Current PE license in NH, MA, ME, or VT
  • Experience with highway projects for MaineDOT, NHDOT, VTrans, or MassDOT
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCAD, ArcView, InRoads, MS Word, Excel, and MS Project
