About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Manager to join an international team in Tokyo. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Japanese labor law, performance management, recruitment, and payroll processes. This role requires a bilingual professional who can effectively communicate in both English and Japanese.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Japanese Labor Law Compliance: Ensure all HR policies and practices comply with Japanese labor laws and regulations. Stay updated on any changes in legislation and advise management accordingly.
  • Performance Management: Develop and implement performance management systems to evaluate and improve employee performance. Provide guidance and support to managers in conducting performance reviews and setting goals.
  • Recruitment: Lead the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding. Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries. Manage employee benefits and compensation packages.
  • Employee Relations: Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts. Promote open communication and a culture of respect and collaboration.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • HR Reporting: Prepare and present HR reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience, preferably in Japan.
  • In-depth knowledge of Japanese labor laws and regulations.
  • Proven experience in performance management, recruitment, and payroll.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
