Instrumentation and Control Engineer
nstrumentation & Controls Engineer (PLC / SCADA)
What they're looking for:
- Experience in PLC and SCADA based control systems engineering
- Strong background with Allen Bradley (RSLogix / Studio 5000)
- HMI or SCADA development experience with Ignition, AVEVA, or FactoryTalk
- Experience supporting projects through design, programming, and commissioning
Core technical experience:
- PLC programming including structured code development, UDTs, and AOIs
- HMI and SCADA development including screen design, templates, and system configuration
- Integration of historians, reporting tools, and control system architecture
- Commissioning support including IO checkout, loop testing, and system startup
- Configuration of VFDs, instrumentation, and communication networks
What you'll be doing:
- Develop and support PLC and HMI applications across multiple projects
- Lead or contribute across the full project lifecycle from design through commissioning
- Support system startup, troubleshooting, and optimization in the field
- Develop control narratives, functional test plans, and training documentation
- Interface directly with clients during project execution
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
Travel and work environment:
- 35 to 45 percent travel required
- All travel is local within the San Francisco Bay Area, no long haul or extended out of region assignments
- Mix of office based engineering work and hands on field commissioning in industrial environments
