Interconnection Manager
Location: Remote (Preference for candidates based in New York)
Overview:
Join a mission-driven team focused on advancing renewable energy solutions. This role offers the opportunity to lead the interconnection process for utility-scale renewable energy and energy storage projects, from post-study phases through to commercial operation. You'll be instrumental in ensuring successful coordination between engineering, procurement, construction teams, and utility stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee utility coordination and timelines during the engineering, procurement, and construction phases of renewable energy projects across North America.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to review and validate contractor plans for compliance with utility standards.
- Serve as the primary liaison between contractors and utility/ISO representatives during project execution.
- Maintain organized records of all interconnection-related documentation and communications.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and identify issues related to interconnection infrastructure.
- Track utility deliverables and schedules to ensure timely project milestones.
- Manage testing and commissioning activities for interconnection facilities.
- Foster strong, respectful relationships with utility companies and ISOs to support project success.
- Handle easements and encroachments for interconnection infrastructure and access routes.
- Oversee metering and telecommunications services related to interconnection.
- Lead the full interconnection lifecycle-from agreement execution through engineering, construction, commissioning, and commercial operation.
- Ensure all project documentation aligns with applicable codes and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, with relevant training or experience in interconnection management.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing interconnection processes within U.S. energy markets.
- Background in large-scale project development is a plus.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and organizational capabilities.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and team leadership skills.
