Investment VP/Diretcor

We are currently helping a client expand their renewable energy platform. We are searching for an investment professional who can bridge strategy, financial structuring, and project development. This role sits at the intersection of commercial analysis and long‑term project execution, requiring someone who can evaluate new opportunities, guide projects through development, and shape the financial direction of major offshore wind assets. The successful candidate thrives in complex environments, collaborates seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams, and understands the financial drivers behind utility‑scale renewable projects.

Role Scope

Rather than being confined to a single function, this role spans the full lifecycle of wind project. You will influence how new projects are selected, how they mature through development, and how they secure capital. Your work will inform decisions at corporate, board, and project levels.

Market Expansion & Early-Stage Analysis

You will investigate emerging markets, follow policy developments, and interpret auction rules and regulatory frameworks to assess whether new geographic opportunities are commercially sound. This includes shaping our participation strategy for competitive processes and working closely with internal teams to define the right entry paths.

Commercial & Transaction Leadership

Where acquisitions, partnerships, or joint ventures arise, you will take charge of the commercial assessment. This includes financial modelling, valuation work, due diligence oversight, and coordination with external advisors. You will be instrumental in framing negotiating positions and ensuring that transactions support long-term portfolio value.

Financial Strategy for Developing Projects

As projects advance through the development pipeline, you will help define financial structure, assess evolving risks, and continuously refine the investment case. This requires collaboration with engineering, permitting, regulatory, grid, and supply chain colleagues. Your work ensures that each project remains bankable and aligned with evolving market and cost conditions.

Project Financing & Capital Engagement

When projects reach the point of requiring third-party capital, you will guide the financing strategy. This involves engaging with lenders, ECAs, and investors, shaping financing terms, and orchestrating the due diligence process. Your contributions will influence loan sizing, risk allocation, and negotiation of key finance documents.

Financial Modelling & Analytical Leadership

You will build and maintain analytical tools that underpin decision-making-comprehensive financial models, sensitivity frameworks, downside analysis, and scenario assessments. These models will serve as the backbone of investment papers, internal approvals, and commercial negotiations.

Internal Communication & Governance

You will translate complex financial outcomes into clear, structured materials for senior executives, committees, and shareholders. Your ability to articulate commercial insights concisely will be crucial in helping leadership make informed decisions on bids, partnerships, acquisitions, and project financing.

Risk, Compliance & Regulatory Alignment

Throughout the lifecycle of each opportunity or project, you will ensure that commercial decisions align with regulatory requirements, contractual commitments, and emerging policy trends. You will collaborate closely with legal and regulatory teams to safeguard compliance.

Requrinemtns

  • Proven experience (7-20 years) in M&A or project finance, ideally within large‑scale infrastructure, power, or renewable energy sectors.
  • Exposure to offshore wind or other major infrastructure assets (e.g., transmission, LNG, utilities, grid-scale energy) is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates without offshore wind experience must have experience in renewable energy investments such as solar, onshore wind, BESS, or other clean‑energy technologies.
  • Demonstrated involvement in end-to-end transaction processes, including valuation, due diligence coordination, negotiation support, and execution.
Technical Capabilities
  • Strong financial modelling skills covering cash flows, valuation methods, debt sizing, scenario analysis, and project economics.
  • Understanding of project finance structures, lender requirements, term sheets, covenants, security packages, and risk allocation.
  • Familiarity with drafting and reviewing key transaction and finance documents (SPA, SHA, PPA, EPC, O&M, financing agreements).
  • Ability to interpret regulatory environments, auction frameworks, and policy impacts on project feasibility.
