Junior Civil Engineer - Sarasota

We are an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm specializing in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are currently seeking a Professional Civil/Environmental Engineer to take on a client-facing role, supporting the design and construction of municipal water and wastewater projects throughout Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Execute civil engineering tasks related to water and wastewater treatment, storage, and conveyance facilities

  • Assist in the development of civil engineering plans, including site layout, yard piping, paving, grading, and stormwater management

  • Support the team in preparing specifications, technical memoranda, cost estimates, and reports

  • Aid in the preparation of permit applications and coordination with regulatory agencies

  • Help ensure contract requirements are met and maintain strong client relationships


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Solid understanding of civil engineering principles, especially those related to water and wastewater infrastructure design

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant civil engineering experience

  • Ability to plan, schedule, and execute engineering work on projects of moderate complexity

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain licensure within 12 months of hire

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-motivated, articulate, and proactive


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with local utility codes and permitting processes in Florida

  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as StormWise™, InfoSWMM, or HEC-RAS

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering
