Land Development Engineer

The Project Engineer will play a key role in the design and execution of land development projects, including residential subdivisions, commercial sites, and public infrastructure. This position requires strong technical skills, project coordination abilities, and familiarity with Idaho's development regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and oversee technical studies, engineering plans, and design documents for land development projects .
  • Conduct site layout, grading, drainage, and utility design using Civil 3D and other CAD tools.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and local agencies to ensure project compliance and timely approvals.
  • Support construction phase services including RFI responses, shop drawing reviews, and field inspections.
  • Assist in project scheduling, budgeting, and scope development.
  • Participate in proposal preparation and cost estimating for new projects.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and interns on project-specific tasks.
  • Ensure all engineering activities align with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in land development or site design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.
  • Strong understanding of Idaho Falls zoning, permitting, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • PE license preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with residential master-planned communities, commercial/retail developments, and public infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with stormwater management, erosion control, and utility coordination.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative team environment.
