Liquid Natural Gas - Senior Process Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a Mid-Level Process Engineer or Technical Specialist to join a team focused on advanced process design and optimization in the energy and chemical processing sectors. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects involving:

Liquefied natural gas (LNG)
Fertilizer production (e.g., ammonia, urea)
Gasification and hydrogen generation
Fermentation-based processes
Sulfur recovery and gas treating
Natural gas liquids (NGL) recovery and fractionation
You will work under general supervision, applying conventional and advanced engineering principles to solve complex challenges. This position is ideal for professionals looking to deepen their expertise and broaden their impact across multiple disciplines.

Location
Candidates should be based in or willing to relocate to Houston, TX or the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Team Focus
The team specializes in delivering comprehensive solutions across the energy and resource conversion value chain. Services span from consulting and front-end engineering design (FEED) to full-scale engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Projects often involve large-scale facilities and innovative technologies tailored to client needs in the fuels, chemicals, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities
Engineering Standards

Stay current with internal design guides, industry standards, and applicable codes
Apply standards appropriately to assigned tasks
Quality & Continuous Improvement

Independently apply quality protocols to deliverables
Support process improvements and change initiatives
Engineering Production

Prepare detailed process engineering documents including simulations, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment and instrument datasheets, relief valve sizing, control narratives, and cause-effect diagrams
Conduct research and recommend equipment/materials
Perform engineering calculations and manage technical data
Adhere to project budgets, schedules, and quality benchmarks
Identify and resolve technical issues within scope
May mentor junior staff or coordinate small teams
Project Coordination

Assign and coordinate tasks with internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate across disciplines to ensure project alignment
Client Engagement

Understand client goals and drivers
Align work with client expectations and project objectives
May support proposal development and client presentations
Knowledge Sharing & Innovation

Share insights on emerging technologies and best practices
People Development

May assist with mentoring, performance feedback, and training initiatives
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution
At least 3 years of relevant experience
Ability to meet onboarding requirements including background checks and screenings
Preferred Qualifications

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification; pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
Experience in process design within the energy, fuels, or chemical industries
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with industry-standard design tools and methodologies
Work Environment
