Project Survey Manager
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Land Surveyor to support infrastructure and development projects across Georgia, with a focus on GDOT standards and deliverables. This role involves both office-based and occasional field work, and offers the opportunity to work with advanced surveying technologies in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage boundary, topographic, ALTA, and utility surveys for public and private sector projects.
- Process survey data using Trimble Business Center, Carlson, and Leica Register 360 for accurate deliverables.
- Conduct sUAV aerial photogrammetry using Pix4D to generate orthomosaics and topographic models.
- Draft certified plats, legal descriptions, and survey exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Map 3D, and MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
- Perform deed research, monument analysis, and prepare metes and bounds descriptions.
- Collaborate with field crews, CAD technicians, engineers, and clients to ensure project accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure compliance with GDOT standards and local regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field (Associate's degree with experience also considered).
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Georgia preferred; SIT or ability to obtain PLS within one year acceptable.
- Ideal: 10+ years of experience managing complex survey projects.
- Acceptable: 8-9 years with demonstrated leadership on large-scale or technically challenging projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Carlson, MicroStation, and ORD.
- Experience with GDOT projects and familiarity with GDOT SUE processes.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with LiDAR, drones, and point cloud processing.
- Knowledge of TopoDOT, GIS platforms, and least squares reduction methods.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
