My client is a leading general contractor with a strong presence in industrial, mission-critical, and advanced manufacturing construction across Midwest & South. Their projects include data centers, battery plants, power plants, and other high-tech industrial facilities. As they continue to grow and win more work, they're seeking a skilled and experienced MEP Superintendent to join the team and oversee complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes on high-profile projects throughout Ohio.

Position Summary

The MEP Superintendent will be responsible for managing and coordinating all field activities related to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on large-scale industrial construction projects. This role requires a strong mechanical background and proven experience in data centers, battery plants, cleanrooms, or similar industrial environments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence while traveling to various project sites across Ohio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee on-site installation of mechanical, electrical and piping systems, ensuring compliance with design, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors, field staff, and project managers.
  • Monitor project schedules and milestones, proactively addressing delays or issues.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Lead site safety efforts and enforce company and OSHA safety policies.
  • Collaborate with design teams, engineers, and clients to resolve technical challenges.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation, including daily reports, inspections, and punch lists.
  • Support commissioning and turnover processes for MEP systems.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Foreman in MEP or mechanical construction.
  • Strong mechanical background required; electrical and plumbing knowledge a plus.
  • Experience working on data centers, battery plants, or other industrial facilities is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in construction management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
  • Willingness to travel to project sites across Ohio as needed.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
