A well-established environmental consulting firm based in Texas is seeking an experienced and dynamic Natural Resources Director to lead and grow a team of environmental professionals. This is a leadership role focused on team development, client engagement, and technical project oversight in the natural resources and environmental sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of biologists and environmental specialists, fostering professional growth and technical excellence.
  • Oversee project execution and ensure high-quality deliverables in compliance with environmental regulations and client expectations.
  • Support recruitment efforts by identifying, onboarding, and developing new team members.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients in the energy, transportation, and government sectors.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote services and expand business opportunities.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives, including proposal writing and client presentations.
  • Provide strategic input on regulatory matters, permitting processes (including NEPA), and environmental compliance.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A seasoned leader with a passion for environmental stewardship and team development.
  • Proven experience managing complex environmental projects from inception to completion.
  • Skilled in building client relationships and representing an organization in professional settings.
  • Comfortable with travel for site visits, client meetings, and industry events.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead meetings and present to diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in the environmental or biological sciences industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental permitting, NEPA compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Additional Attributes:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects with budgets up to $300,000.
  • Experience participating in industry associations and professional societies.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with a focus on mentoring and career development.
