Operations Excellence Leader

A systems-oriented operational and technical expert is sought to lead optimization and troubleshooting efforts across multiple wastewater and reuse facilities. This role focuses on enhancing uptime, inventory control, and operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • CMMS Implementation: Lead the design and rollout of a comprehensive Computerized Maintenance Management System across all field sites.
  • Inventory Management: Develop and enforce standardized protocols to ensure inventory accuracy, availability, and cost control.
  • Reliability & Uptime: Implement strategies to maximize system uptime and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct structured investigations into failures and drive corrective actions.
  • Commissioning & Procurement Support: Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth transitions and procurement processes.
  • Strategic Execution: Translate operational strategy into actionable plans with measurable outcomes.

Typical Duties

  • Monitor and respond to system alarms using industrial control platforms.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends and ensure compliance.
  • Review technical documentation including P&IDs, PFDs, installation details, and maintenance procedures.
  • Develop and revise operational protocols for new and existing facilities.
  • Support project controls and operations turnover documentation.
  • Manage procurement activities and vendor invoicing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in water and wastewater treatment.
  • Strong ownership, team-building, and work ethic.
  • Experience in design, operation, and optimization of wastewater treatment plants, preferably in industrial or municipal settings.
  • Proficiency in generating detailed monthly reports with data analysis and financial insights.

Technical Expertise

  • Ability to interpret engineering packages across disciplines.
  • Deep understanding of industrial electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Experience with skidded equipment, process controls, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic, electrical, chemical, and process principles.

Additional Skills & Qualities

  • Expertise in technologies such as DAF, SAF, MBR, UFMBR, RO, ion exchange, and filtration.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel frequently.
  • Experience with instrumentation, PLCs, and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of biogas and RNG systems.
  • Proven ability to manage complex multi-site operations.
