About the Opportunity
A well-established MEP consulting firm is seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineer to join its remote team, with preference for candidates based in Florida or Colorado. This full-time role is ideal for a professional with 10+ years of experience in plumbing engineering across a variety of building types. The position is part of a collaborative team and focuses primarily on design, technical leadership, and code compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary, storm drainage, and specialty piping systems.
- Perform calculations for flow rates, pipe sizing, pressure drops, and equipment selection.
- Prepare detailed design drawings and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
- Interpret and apply plumbing codes including IPC, UPC, and local amendments to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate plumbing systems into building designs.
- Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and specifications.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to verify installation and compliance.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and code updates.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in plumbing engineering within the MEP industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and plumbing design software.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and standards.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- EIT or PE license is a plus.
