Are you passionate about designing innovative electrical and control systems? We're seeking an experienced Power and Controls Designer to join our team and support a diverse range of engineering projects across municipal and industrial sectors. If you have 3-10+ years of relevant experience and enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, we'd love to hear from you!

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with design teams, project managers, and clients to develop comprehensive Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EI&C) design packages.
  • Select and specify electrical equipment, instrumentation, and controls for monitoring and operating mechanical, process, and electrical systems.
  • Prepare power system studies, single-line diagrams, load calculations, and EI&C site plans.
  • Develop and update P&IDs, logic diagrams, control narratives, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Create and maintain instrument indexes and control panel designs.
  • Interpret and apply relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Provide technical support during installation, start-up, and operation of instrumentation and controls.
  • Conduct field inspections and offer on-site assistance as needed.
  • Design PLC/HMI architectures, including Ethernet, ControlNet, and Remote I/O networks.
  • Travel as required to support project and departmental objectives.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution (EIT or PE preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience working with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Proven experience in industrial facility design and construction projects.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit (required).
  • Strong understanding of network layouts and I/O diagrams.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • PLC and HMI programming experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Mechanical or chemical engineering knowledge is a bonus.
