Power System Engineer
Responsibilities
- Develop PSSE/PSLF steady state and dynamic power flow models, ASPEN short circuit models, PSCAD models etc. and perform grid interconnection studies for utility scale renewable energy projects including Solar, Storage, Wind and Hybrid
- Develop preliminary plant layout, and Single Line Diagrams for renewable energy projects
- Perform feasibility studies for renewable energy projects
- Perform specialized studies such as reactive capability, harmonics, TOV studies etc.
- Perform equipment modeling and benchmarking studies as applicable
- Co-ordinate and attend meetings with Developers, Utilities, ISO's, equipment manufacturers as subject matter experts on Grid Integration and transmission planning.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's in electrical engineering with 5+ years relevant experience or Masters with 3+ years relevant experience
- Experience with one or more of the power systems tools- PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, ASPEN, TSAT, TARA, EMTP-RV, ETAP, Dig SILENT
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: transmission planning, renewable grid integration studies, stability studies, and reliability assessment.
- Experience working with ISOs (independent system operator) and/or RTOs (regional transmission organization)
- Fundamental understanding of electric power systems and renewable energy
- Some proficiency in one of the languages: Python, Java, C++ (Preferred)
- Strong organizational, interpersonal (written & verbal) skills, problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic multi-cultural team environment
