A client is seeking a Principal Air Quality Consultant to lead and grow our air quality practice within a leading environmental consulting firm. This is a strategic leadership role focused on delivering complex projects, mentoring staff, and driving business development initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as technical lead for air quality permitting, compliance, and modeling projects.
- Oversee preparation of air permit applications (NSR, Title V, PSD) and regulatory reports.
- Provide expert guidance on federal and state air quality regulations.
- Lead air dispersion modeling efforts (AERMOD, CALPUFF, ISC-PRIME) and interpret results.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships; identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Mentor and manage junior and mid-level staff, fostering technical excellence and career growth.
- Represent the firm in industry forums, conferences, and regulatory discussions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Atmospheric Science, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in air quality consulting, permitting, and compliance.
- Proven track record of project leadership and business development.
- Expertise in air dispersion modeling tools and emissions calculation software.
- Strong understanding of EPA and state-specific air regulations.
- PE license strongly preferred; advanced certifications a plus.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.
