Principal Engineer

A leading environmental consulting firm with a strong regional presence in the Pacific Northwest is seeking a Principal Environmental Engineer to join its dynamic Seattle team. This role is ideal for a seasoned Professional Engineer (PE) with expertise in contaminated site assessment and remediation, and a passion for business development and client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a senior technical and strategic leader for complex environmental investigation and remediation projects across Washington and the Pacific Northwest.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identify market opportunities, and lead business development and proposal efforts.

  • Guide multidisciplinary teams in preparing work plans, site assessments, feasibility studies, and remedial designs.

  • Oversee regulatory strategy and interface with agencies including EPA and Washington Department of Ecology.

  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff, supporting a culture of collaboration, integrity, and scientific rigor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering.

  • Current Washington PE license (or ability to obtain promptly).

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in environmental consulting, with a focus on site assessment and remediation.

  • Demonstrated success in business development, client account management, and strategic growth.

  • Strong understanding of Washington State environmental regulations and CERCLA/RCRA programs.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Salary Range:
$160,000 - $190,000 annually, depending on experience and credentials.
