About the Role

We are seeking a Project Architect with 5+ years of professional experience to join our Tacoma-based team. This role is ideal for a licensed architect with strong technical expertise and proven experience delivering public-sector projects. The Project Architect will play a key role in leading project documentation, coordinating with consultants, and supporting the successful delivery of complex architectural projects from design through construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of construction documents and technical detailing for public projects
  • Coordinate with consultants, engineers, and regulatory agencies
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and public procurement requirements
  • Support project management efforts including schedules, budgets, and client coordination
  • Participate in design development and contribute to creative and technical problem-solving
  • Assist with construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, and site reviews
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative studio environment

Required Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
  • Architectural license in the State of Washington
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience as an architect
  • Demonstrated experience working on public-sector projects (Education, Federal, Government, Civic or Institutional preferred)
  • Strong technical skills with construction documentation and detailing
  • Proficiency in Revit (required); familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam preferred
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience navigating public agency processes and approvals
  • Familiarity with Washington State building codes and public procurement procedures
  • Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented studio environment
