Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Development Manager to lead the development of large-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects in Australia. This role requires full lifecycle project development experience-from greenfield land sourcing through development and permitting to achieving Ready-to-Build (RTB) status.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure suitable greenfield sites for utility-scale solar and BESS projects.
  • Manage all aspects of project development, including feasibility studies, permitting, environmental assessments, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead negotiations for land agreements, grid connection applications, and regulatory approvals.
  • Oversee technical, commercial, and financial aspects of projects to ensure bankability and compliance with Australian market standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Prepare and present investment cases for internal approval and support financing activities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with landowners, network service providers, regulators, and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a strong focus on solar PV and BESS.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects through the full lifecycle-from greenfield sourcing to RTB.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian energy market regulations, grid connection processes, and permitting requirements.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience negotiating land agreements and EPC contracts.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related field.
