We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of heavy civil infrastructure projects throughout the Portland metro area and surrounding regions. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced project managers and field teams on impactful transportation, earthwork, utility, excavation, and infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate will be eager to develop their construction management career while gaining exposure to all phases of project execution, from preconstruction through closeout.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project operations.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, owners, and design teams.
- Track project schedules, budgets, and production quantities.
- Review plans and specifications to ensure compliance and constructability.
- Support procurement efforts and material tracking.
- Maintain accurate project records and reporting.
- Assist with project closeout documentation and turnover.
Experience Needed
- Experience working on heavy civil construction projects.
- Exposure to roadway, highway, bridge, utility, excavation, grading, earthwork, or underground infrastructure projects.
- Experience supporting project managers, field engineers, or superintendents.
- Familiarity with project scheduling and cost tracking.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and vendors.
- Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 1-5+ years of construction experience.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to visit project sites as needed.
