Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Project Engineer to join their growing Land Development team in Roseville.
This individual will be responsible for supporting the design and delivery of land development projects while providing technical expertise to project teams, clients, and stakeholders. The position offers a blend of engineering design, project coordination, technical leadership, and mentorship responsibilities.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on complex development projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to solve engineering challenges and prepare construction documents.
- Support project design and development for rough grading, finish grading, stormwater treatment systems, and utility infrastructure from planning through construction.
- Prepare specifications, technical reports, research investigations, and supporting project documentation.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate technical work across multiple projects and project phases.
- Coordinate with internal design teams, consultants, agencies, and authorities having jurisdiction.
- Track agency approvals, contract approvals, and additional service requests throughout project delivery.
- Review and modify site plans to meet project requirements while recommending more effective design solutions.
- Review project designs and technical deliverables prior to formal QA/QC review.
- Assist with mentoring, delegating work to, and supporting the development of Design Engineers.
- Contribute to technical problem-solving related to grading, drainage, utilities, and site development.
- Support project teams in maintaining schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License preferred, or EIT actively pursuing licensure.
- 4+ years of recent experience within Civil Engineering focused on Land Development Design.
- Strong experience with project design and technical coordination.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydrology modeling software, and storm drainage programs.
- Strong understanding of rough grading, finish grading, utility design, and stormwater management.
- Ability to solve grading challenges and balance earthwork requirements.
- Experience coordinating with consultants, agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced professional environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $100k-$130k, based on experience, licensure, technical expertise, and overall project background.
