A well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering and consulting firm is seeking a Team Lead / Project Engineer to join its Land Development group in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a fantastic opportunity for a civil engineering professional to take on a leadership role in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, working on a wide range of regional development projects.
The role involves both technical design and project management responsibilities, with a focus on infrastructure design, permitting, and construction documentation for residential, commercial, institutional, and municipal developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the design and permitting of land development projects, including roads, stormwater systems, utilities, and erosion control.
- Prepare and review technical calculations, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and technical staff.
- Conduct technical reviews of engineering documents to ensure quality and compliance.
- Support project scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in site visits, field reporting, and coordination of field testing activities.
- Attend meetings with clients and review agencies to support project approvals and progress.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- 5+ years of experience in civil engineering design and project management.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 3 months (North Carolina preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience with design software such as Hydraflow, HydroCAD, and WaterCAD.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive mindset with a desire to grow professionally and contribute to a dynamic team environment.
