Project Engineer
We are looking for a technically skilled Project Engineer to manage complex, custom-engineered equipment projects. This is a customer-facing role focused on overseeing the full life cycle of engineered-to-order products-from design release through manufacturing, delivery, and field installation. This is not a construction or software project management role; it requires deep technical engagement and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison with customers post-order, ensuring clear communication and successful execution.
- Interpret customer specifications and translate them into actionable engineering deliverables.
- Coordinate with internal teams across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and field service.
- Manage project time lines, budgets, and scope; proactively identify and resolve risks.
- Lead customer meetings and provide regular updates on progress, milestones, and challenges.
- Handle contract terms, change orders, and technical clarifications in collaboration with commercial teams.
- Oversee logistics including site preparation, shipping, and installation.
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, quality protocols, and safety regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in project execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (required).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project engineering or management for custom industrial equipment or power systems.
- Demonstrated success in managing large, customer-facing technical projects.
- Experience with high-voltage equipment such as transformers, switchgear, or substations is preferred.
- PMP certification is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Willingness to work on site and travel occasionally to customer locations.
