Senior Environmental Engineer, Geologist or Hydrogeologist

Overview
Our client, a national engineering and environmental consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Environmental Professional to support and lead technically complex environmental projects. This role is ideal for a hands‑on professional who combines strong field expertise with project execution skills and is interested in growing into expanded leadership responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as project personnel on environmental projects, supporting scope development, execution, and timely delivery
  • Supervise field investigations and oversee the work of junior staff, ensuring quality, safety, and technical accuracy
  • Act as a subject matter expert for field employees, providing guidance on field methodologies, regulatory requirements, and best practices
  • Lead project planning and logistics, including coordination of field activities, subcontractors, and internal resources
  • Implement approved project scopes, manage budgets, and support schedule tracking
  • Prepare project proposals, technical reports, and supporting documentation
  • Maintain client relationships through effective communication and participate in client meetings as needed
  • Coordinate with other work groups across office locations and technical disciplines to support integrated project delivery
  • Support environmental work including remediation services, Phase I and Phase II investigations, environmental sampling and monitoring, permitting, management of contaminants such as PFAS, design support, and brownfield redevelopment projects
  • Direct reports are anticipated to evolve over time as the role and project needs develop

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related discipline
  • Seven to ten years of environmental consulting or related experience
  • Professional credential preferred (PE, PG, and/or LEED AP)
  • Experience supervising field activities and guiding junior staff
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations, investigation techniques, and remediation practices
  • Proven ability to write clear, technically sound, client‑facing reports
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across teams
