Position Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operational execution of assigned mechanical construction projects. This role works collaboratively with field leadership, project managers, and internal support teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
The position focuses on cost control, scheduling, coordination, documentation, and issue resolution, while supporting project teams in meeting customer expectations, safety standards, and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support operational execution of assigned projects, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost controls are consistently met
- Partner with project leadership and field teams to support construction activities, staffing plans, and workflow coordination
- Monitor project budgets, cost forecasts, and schedules, proactively identifying risks and variances
- Assist with preparation, review, and tracking of change orders and project documentation
- Coordinate with operations, purchasing, field supervision, and internal support teams to ensure timely project delivery
- Communicate key project information with site teams, vendors, and subcontractors as needed
- Participate in project meetings and operational reviews to support alignment and issue resolution
- Maintain a regular presence on active job sites during construction and critical project milestones
- Troubleshoot operational issues related to technical challenges, schedule impacts, and cost exposure
- Promote consistent application of safety standards, procedures, and best practices across projects
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in mechanical construction operations, with experience supporting commercial HVAC and plumbing projects across complex delivery environments.
General Requirements
- Working knowledge of mechanical construction operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and estimating support
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Experience tracking budgets, forecasting costs, and identifying operational risk
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with field and project teams
Preferred Background
- Degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 7-10+ years of construction industry experience, including exposure to project or operational management
- Ability to operate independently while exercising sound judgment on escalation and collaboration
