Project Manager - Power Delivery Construction
The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing construction activities related to electrical distribution, transmission, and substation projects. This role involves managing project schedules, budgets, documentation, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful project delivery in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule construction activities for electrical distribution, transmission, and substation projects.
- Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and utility clients to support daily operations.
- Monitor project progress, budget status, and timelines; identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and daily reports.
- Assist with procurement and ensure timely delivery of materials to job sites.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations at all levels.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Conduct quality control inspections and assist with punch list development and project closeout.
- Support cost tracking, billing, and preparation of project invoices.
- Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to assess cost and schedule performance and provide accurate forecasts.
- Prepare and present financial and performance reports, including cost-to-complete and earned value metrics.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil/Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in construction project coordination, preferably in utility infrastructure.
- Familiarity with utility standards, NESC/NESC codes, and safety protocols (OSHA, DOT, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management software (e.g., Primavera, Procore, or similar) is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred:
- Experience working with investor-owned utilities or municipal power companies.
- Knowledge of permitting processes, easement coordination, and utility relocation.
- Certifications such as PMP, OSHA 30, or similar are a plus.
