Project Manager - Utility-Scale Solar

Location: IL (Hybrid)
Salary: $95,000-$130,000 per year
Employment Type: Full-Time


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale solar and BESS projects in Illinois. This position offers an opportunity to manage complex renewable energy projects from pre-construction through commissioning, ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage utility-scale solar and BESS projects from planning through completion.
  • Oversee daily operations, assign tasks, and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Monitor costs, manage change orders, and mitigate risks proactively.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams for optimal execution.
  • Conduct regular project meetings and provide status updates on progress and risks.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all phases of the project.

Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years of experience in electrical construction, preferably in utility-scale solar or renewable energy projects.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale solar projects from start to finish.
  • Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, BESS integration, and construction processes.
  • Leadership experience managing project teams and subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and civil drawings and specifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred, but experience may substitute).
