Project Manager
A growing heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee infrastructure projects throughout the Greater Houston area. This role is ideal for a construction professional with a strong background in civil construction, utilities, site development, and public works projects who can successfully manage projects from preconstruction through closeout.
The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, budgeting, scheduling, client communication, subcontractor coordination, and overall project execution while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple heavy civil construction projects from award through completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, and production plans.
- Coordinate field operations with Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Monitor project costs, quantities, change orders, and overall financial performance.
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project documents.
- Lead project meetings with owners, engineers, inspectors, and stakeholders.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
- Identify project risks and implement solutions to maintain schedule and budget goals.
- Prepare monthly reports, project updates, and progress forecasts for leadership.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Project Management experience within heavy civil construction.
- Experience managing underground utility, water/wastewater, site development, roadway, drainage, or municipal infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, estimating, and contract administration.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Experience managing subcontractors and self-perform operations.
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
