Project Manager
Overview:
Our client is an established civil engineering consulting firm seeking a Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager to join its Roseville office. This role will focus on leading private land development projects from initial planning through final design, permitting, and construction support. The successful candidate will oversee project delivery, manage technical staff, coordinate directly with clients and reviewing agencies, and support the continued growth of the local practice.
This position offers an experienced land development engineer the opportunity to take immediate ownership of projects while expanding their client management and team leadership responsibilities.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $140,000 to $180,000 base salary (depending on experience), performance-based bonuses, and sign-on bonus potential

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage private land development projects from early planning through design, permitting, and construction support
- Lead the preparation and review of grading, drainage, utility, roadway, and site improvement plans
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, proposals, specifications, and cost estimates
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, reviewing agencies, consultants, and internal project teams
- Coordinate with developers, architects, utility providers, and multidisciplinary consultants
- Provide technical direction, quality control, and mentorship to engineering and design staff
- Manage multiple assignments while maintaining project schedules, budgets, and quality standards
- Support client relationships, proposal development, and opportunities for additional work
Key Qualifications:
- 8+ years of civil engineering experience with a strong focus on private land development in the Greater Sacramento Area
- California Professional Engineer license preferred
- Experience managing land development projects from planning and entitlement coordination through final design
- Strong technical background in grading, drainage, utilities, roadway improvements, and site design
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience preparing and reviewing plans, specifications, estimates, calculations, and technical reports
- Ability to manage project teams and communicate effectively with clients and public agencies
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
