Senior Project Manager - Land Development | Baltimore Region
A well-established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead land development and site civil projects across the Baltimore region. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader looking to manage complex projects, mentor teams, and play a key role in client development and business growth.
The Opportunity
You'll oversee a diverse portfolio of land development projects, from large-scale mixed-use developments to urban redevelopment initiatives, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams committed to delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead land development and site civil projects from planning through construction.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and quality.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop engineering staff and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Review engineering plans, reports, and technical deliverables.
- Support business development through proposals, fee estimates, and client engagement.
- Provide technical oversight for site design, grading, stormwater management, utilities, and permitting.
- Monitor project financial performance, invoicing, and profitability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).
- PE licence in Maryland, Virginia, DC, or the ability to obtain.
- 10+ years of land development engineering and project management experience.
- Strong background managing client relationships and engineering teams.
- Experience with local permitting processes in the Mid-Atlantic region.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D or similar design software.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project delivery skills.
Preferred Experience
- Stormwater modelling and drainage design.
- Site grading, utility design, and erosion & sediment control.
- Proposal development and scope negotiation.
- Active involvement in industry organisations or business development initiatives.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary: $140,000 - $160,000+ (dependent on experience).
