Compensation: $135,000 - $165,000+ depending on experience, licensure, and overall qualifications.
About the Opportunity
An established employee-owned engineering consulting firm is seeking a Project Manager - Water/Wastewater to lead and deliver municipal water infrastructure projects throughout Colorado and the surrounding region.
This role offers the opportunity to manage projects from initial planning and design through construction support while working closely with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and technical specialists. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management experience, technical expertise, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions for public-sector clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage water and wastewater infrastructure projects from initiation through completion.
- Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate technical staff, subconsultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Develop project work plans and ensure quality deliverables.
- Monitor project performance and proactively address project risks and challenges.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
- Lead project meetings, presentations, and progress updates.
- Review project financial performance and support invoicing activities.
- Assist with proposal development, client pursuits, and business development initiatives.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and project staff.
- Maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for future work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 10+ years of water and wastewater engineering experience.
- Proven experience managing projects through planning, design, and construction phases.
- Strong client relationship and communication skills.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and schedule commitments.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, CAPM, or similar project management certification.
- Experience working with municipalities, utilities, or public-sector clients.
- Familiarity with Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, or alternative delivery methods.
- Previous involvement in proposal development and project pursuits.
