A leading infrastructure consultancy is seeking a Regional Drinking Water Process Leader to spearhead technical strategy and delivery across drinking water, reuse, and desalination projects. About the Role
This position offers the chance to lead complex water treatment initiatives, provide subject matter expertise, and shape the future of water infrastructure across municipal and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will work across multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and engage directly with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead design and engineering of conventional and advanced water treatment systems, including coagulation, filtration, membrane technologies, reverse osmosis, UV/AOP, and ozonation.
- Conduct pilot and full-scale testing to evaluate treatment performance.
- Develop process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and technical memoranda.
- Provide QA/QC oversight and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
- Evaluate lifecycle costs and recommend optimal treatment solutions.
Client Engagement & Business Development
- Build and maintain client relationships.
- Support proposal development and strategic pursuits.
- Represent the firm at industry events and conferences.
Team Development
- Mentor and coach junior engineers.
- Review technical deliverables and support career development.
- Contribute to the evolution of internal engineering standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering (Master's or PhD preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in drinking water treatment, including at least 5 years focused on water quality and process design.
- Expertise in reuse, desalination, brine management, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
