About The Company
Our client is a Singapore-based company focused on developing high-integrity carbon projects across Southeast Asia. We work with local communities, governments, and partners to deliver nature-based solutions that generate measurable climate and biodiversity impact.
Role Overview
They are seeking a proactive and entrepreneurial Head of Indonesia to lead their operations in-country. This is a pivotal role for someone passionate about climate action and experienced in carbon project development, stakeholder engagement, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Carbon Projects (80%)
Business Development (50%):
- Identify and evaluate new carbon project opportunities across Indonesia.
- Build relationships with local stakeholders, landowners, NGOs, and government agencies.
- Support feasibility assessments and early-stage project scoping.
Project Implementation (50%):
- Oversee registration and validation of carbon projects (e.g., Verra, Gold Standard).
- Coordinate with technical teams and local partners to ensure project compliance and delivery.
- Monitor progress and report on key milestones.
Representation & Travel (20%)
- Represent the client in meetings, conferences, and field visits.
- Travel to project sites (primarily Sumatra) and partner offices as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carbon markets, nature-based solutions, or environmental project development.
- Strong network in Indonesia's sustainability or conservation sectors.
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Comfortable working independently and building operations from the ground up.
- Based in Jakarta or willing to relocate (preferred but not mandatory).
Contracting Details
- This is a full-time role, hired as a contractor or consultant through a local entity or partner.
- Long-term potential for permanent engagement as the business scales.
